Six Pillars of Responsible Play

r798 builds responsible gambling into every layer of the platform. Here is how we protect players and promote healthy habits across Pakistan and beyond.

Age Verification

Every new account goes through a robust identity verification process designed to confirm that the user is at least 18 years old — or the higher minimum stipulated by the Operator's license. KYC documentation must be approved before full platform access is granted. r798 treats underage access as a zero-tolerance matter.

Deposit Limits

Set daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits directly from your account settings. Once a limit is active, the platform will not allow deposits that exceed your chosen threshold during the applicable period. Reducing an existing limit takes effect immediately; increasing it may be subject to a mandatory reflection period.

Loss Limits

A loss limit caps the total amount you can lose within a defined period — daily, weekly or monthly. When your cumulative losses reach the limit, your session is pa used automatically. This tool is one of the most effective ways to prevent chasing losses — a behaviour pattern that can quickly escalate into a serious problem.

Time Controls

Session time limits let you define how long you play in a single sitting. When your time is up, the platform will prompt you to take a break or end your session. Reality-check notifications can also be enabled to remind you of how long you have been playing at regular intervals — a simple but powerful nudge toward mindful gambling.

Self-Exclusion

If you feel that gambling is getting out of hand, self-exclusion allows you to block access to your account for a chosen period — from a short cooling-off break of 24 hours through to a permanent closure. Once active, self-exclusion cannot be reversed during the exclusion period. Contact support to initiate the process and regain control.

Support Resources

r798 recognises that problem gambling is a genuine health concern. We encourage any player who feels their gambling is becoming harmful to seek professional help. Recognised support organisations — including GamCare, Gamblers Anonymous and Gambling Therapy — offer confidential guidance, counselling and peer support available to users worldwide including Pakistan.

Understanding Problem Gambling

Responsible gambling starts with honest self-awareness. For the vast majority of players, betting on cricket, following PSL T20 action or enjoying a live casino table is a form of entertainment — much like going to a cinema or watching a match at a Lahore stadium. The cost is manageable, the enjoyment is real and life outside gambling remains healthy and balanced.

Problem gambling occurs when betting activity begins to interfere with daily responsibilities, personal relationships, mental health or financial stability. It is not defined by the amount wagered; it is defined by the impact gambling has on your life. A person spending PKR 500 per session but experiencing distress about it may be struggling, while someone wagering PKR 25,000 in a disciplined, recreational manner may be perfectly fine.

r798 encourages all players — whether you are based in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Multan or anywhere else in Pakistan — to pause periodically and honestly assess your relationship with gambling. The self-assessment questions in the panel opposite are a starting point, not a clinical diagnosis.

Common Warning Signs

  • Spending more money or time gambling than you intended.
  • Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when not gambling.
  • Gambling to escape stress, anxiety, boredom or negative emotions.
  • Chasing losses — betting more to try to recover money already lost.
  • Lying to family or friends about how much you gamble or how much you spend.
  • Borrowing money, selling possessions or neglecting bills to fund gambling.
  • Neglecting work, study or family commitments because of gambling.
  • Repeated failed attempts to cut back or stop gambling.
Important: Identifying these signs early makes recovery far more achievable. If any of the above resonates with you, please use the tools available on the platform or reach out to a support service. You do not have to wait until things reach crisis point.

Quick Self-Assessment

Answer these questions honestly. If you answer "yes" to two or more, consider speaking to a responsible gambling support service.

Have you ever spent more time or money gambling than you originally planned?

Have you gambled to escape problems, relieve stress or improve your mood?

Have you tried to win back money you have lost — known as chasing losses?

Have you hidden your gambling activity or the amount you spend from people close to you?

Has gambling caused financial difficulty — difficulty paying rent, utility bills or other essential costs?

Have you neglected family, work or personal responsibilities because of gambling?

Have you ever borrowed money specifically to gamble or to cover gambling debts?

Have you tried to stop gambling but found yourself unable to do so?

This is a general awareness tool, not a clinical diagnosis. If you are concerned, please use the platform's self-exclusion tools or contact a professional support service.

Player Protection Tools

Every tool listed below is available directly from your r798 account settings. They are free to use, effective immediately (where noted) and designed to help you stay in control.

Daily Deposit Limit

Set the maximum amount you can deposit within any 24-hour period. Effective immediately upon activation. Increases require a 24-hour cooling-off period before taking effect.

Weekly Deposit Limit

Caps your total deposits across any rolling 7-day window. Ideal for players who prefer to budget on a weekly cycle aligned with salary or income schedules.

Monthly Deposit Limit

A broader monthly ceiling that works well alongside budgets set in PKR. Reducing the limit takes effect immediately; increasing it is subject to a mandatory 7-day reflection period.

Loss Limit

Defines the maximum net loss you are willing to sustain in a day, week or month. The system pauses your session automatically once the threshold is reached, preventing further losses in the period.

Session Time Limit

Choose a maximum session duration — from 30 minutes to several hours. When time is up, you are prompted to stop. Reality-check pop-ups at set intervals keep your session awareness sharp.

Cooling-Off Period

Take a short, structured break from gambling — 24 hours, 48 hours, one week or one month — without fully closing your account. During cooling-off, deposits and betting are suspended.

Self-Exclusion

A longer-term block on your account — from six months up to five years, or permanently. Cannot be reversed during the active exclusion period. Contact support to apply or to discuss your options.

Marketing Opt-Out

Turn off promotional emails, SMS alerts and bonus notifications at any time. Removing marketing communications reduces triggers that can prompt unplanned gambling sessions.

How to access these tools: Log in to your r798 account, navigate to Account Settings, and select the "Responsible Gambling" or "Player Protection" section. All tools are available without contacting support, though our team is always happy to assist you at [email protected].

How Self-Exclusion Works

Self-exclusion is one of the most important tools available to any player who feels that gambling is causing harm. At r798, the self-exclusion process is straightforward, confidential and — once activated — strictly enforced. There is no judgment and no barrier to requesting it.

When self-exclusion is active, your account is locked. You will not be able to log in, make deposits, place bets or access any gambling features. Any outstanding balance at the time of exclusion will be returned to your nominated payment method — which may be a Pakistani bank account (HBL, UBL, Meezan Bank, Bank Alfalah) or a mobile wallet (Easypaisa, JazzCash) subject to applicable payment processing procedures. These references are contextual; no payment provider endorsement is implied.

r798 will also suppress all marketing communications to a self-excluded account for the duration of the exclusion period. If you receive a communication in error during exclusion, please notify support immediately.

Important: Self-exclusion on r798 applies only to the r798 platform. If you wish to exclude yourself from a broader range of gambling operators, please consider registering with a national or jurisdiction-level self-exclusion scheme applicable to the Operator's licensing territory.

Tips for Healthy Gambling

These practical habits can make a real difference to your gambling experience — and help ensure it stays fun rather than harmful.

Only Gamble What You Can Afford to Lose

Before you start, decide on a fixed budget — an amount that, if lost entirely, will not affect your household expenses, rent, utility bills or savings. In Pakistan, keeping gambling money clearly separate from your Easypaisa or JazzCash everyday wallet is a practical way to enforce this boundary.

Treat Gambling as Entertainment, Not Income

No betting strategy or lucky streak is a reliable income source. Whether you are backing Pakistan in an ICC tournament match or playing a live casino table, approach each session as paid entertainment — like a ticket to a PSL game at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium — not as a financial plan.

Never Chase Losses

Chasing losses — placing larger or more frequent bets to recover what you have lost — is one of the most common pathways into problem gambling. When you hit your loss limit for the day, stop. Losses are the cost of entertainment, not a debt owed to you by the game.

Take Regular Breaks

Step away from the screen regularly. Set a timer, get up, have a cup of chai, or take a short walk. Prolonged uninterrupted sessions impair judgment and can make it harder to stick to your limits. Use session time reminders in your account settings to build breaks into your routine automatically.

Avoid Gambling When Emotional

Stress, grief, loneliness, anger or even excessive excitement can significantly cloud your decision-making. If you have had a difficult day — or an unusually good one — it is often better to skip a gambling session entirely. Gambling is not a healthy coping mechanism for emotional distress.

Talk Openly With Loved Ones

Secrecy around gambling is one of the earliest warning signs of a developing problem. If you feel comfortable telling family or friends what you spend and how often you play, that transparency is a healthy sign. If the thought of that conversation feels uncomfortable, it may be worth reflecting on why.
